Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about drone light shows — from planning to execution and beyond.
01
What exactly is a drone light show?
A drone light show is a choreographed aerial performance where hundreds of LED-equipped drones fly in precise formations to create images, animations, and storytelling sequences in the night sky. Think of it as a next-generation replacement for fireworks — but fully programmable, reusable, and environmentally friendly.
02
How is a drone show different from fireworks?
Unlike fireworks, drone shows produce zero smoke, debris, or noise pollution. They can display logos, text, 3D shapes, and animated sequences that fireworks simply cannot achieve. Drones are also reusable and don't require pyrotechnics permits in most jurisdictions, making them a safer and greener alternative.
03
How many drones do you use in a typical show?
Our shows typically range from 100 to 1,000+ drones depending on the scale and complexity of the performance. Larger formations create more detailed images and more impactful visual experiences. We'll recommend the optimal fleet size based on your venue, audience, and creative requirements.
04
How far in advance should I book a drone show?
We recommend booking at least 4 to 8 weeks in advance to allow time for creative design, choreography programming, site survey, and regulatory approvals. For large-scale national events or international deployments, 3 to 6 months lead time is ideal. However, we've executed rapid-turnaround shows when needed.
05
How long does a drone light show last?
Most shows run between 8 to 15 minutes, which is the sweet spot for audience engagement. Shorter shows (3–5 minutes) work great for corporate reveals and countdown moments, while extended performances can be designed for festivals and special celebrations. Battery life and creative pacing both factor into the duration.
06
Is it safe to fly drones over a live audience?
Safety is our top priority. Our drones fly at altitudes between 80m to 200m — well above the audience. Each drone has built-in failsafe systems including return-to-home, auto-landing, and GPS redundancy. We maintain strict safety perimeters, and our operations comply with international aviation standards in every country we operate.
07
Can you display our company logo or custom designs?
Absolutely. Custom logos, brand visuals, text messages, QR codes, 3D shapes, and animated sequences are all possible. Our creative team will work with you to translate your brand assets into aerial formations that are optimised for visibility and impact from the audience's vantage point.
08
What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
Our drones can operate in light rain and moderate wind conditions. However, heavy rain, thunderstorms, or winds exceeding 10m/s may require postponement for safety. We monitor weather closely in the days leading up to your event and always have backup date protocols built into our planning.
09
How much does a drone light show cost?
Pricing varies based on the number of drones, show duration, complexity of choreography, and location. A basic show with 100 drones starts at a different price point than a 500-drone spectacular. We provide custom quotes for every project — reach out to us with your event details and we'll put together a tailored proposal.
10
Do you handle aviation permits and regulatory approvals?
Yes. We handle all regulatory filings, airspace coordination, and permit applications as part of our service. Our team has experience navigating aviation authorities across 11+ countries, including CAAS (Singapore), GCAA (UAE), PCAA (Pakistan), and others. You don't need to worry about the paperwork — we take care of it.
11
Can drone shows be synchronised with music?
Yes, music synchronisation is one of our specialties. The drone choreography is programmed beat-by-beat to your chosen soundtrack, creating a fully immersive audiovisual experience. We can work with existing music, custom compositions, or live performances.
12
How much space is needed for a drone show?
We typically require a launch area of approximately 30m x 30m that is flat and clear of obstacles. The aerial performance space above is much larger. A site survey is conducted before every show to assess the venue, identify obstacles, map no-fly zones, and determine optimal viewing angles for your audience.
13
Do you operate internationally?
Absolutely. We've delivered shows across 11+ countries on 4 continents — including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Pakistan, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Libya, and Australia. Our team handles all international logistics, equipment shipping, and local regulatory compliance.
14
What colours can the drones display?
Each drone is equipped with high-intensity RGB LEDs capable of displaying over 16 million colours. Colours can change dynamically during flight, enabling gradient effects, colour transitions, and full-colour imagery. We can match any brand colour palette with precision.
15
What safety measures are in place during a show?
Our safety protocol includes: GPS redundancy systems on every drone, automated return-to-home on signal loss, real-time fleet monitoring, designated safety perimeters, on-site safety officers, pre-flight checks, and coordination with local aviation authorities. We carry comprehensive insurance for every operation.
16
Can I see a preview of the show before the event?
Yes. We provide 3D simulation renders of the complete show before the event day. This allows you to review every formation, transition, and timing detail. Revisions are included in our process to ensure the final performance matches your vision perfectly.
17
What types of events are drone shows suitable for?
Drone shows are perfect for national day celebrations, corporate product launches, festivals, weddings, sporting events, concerts, theme parks, New Year countdowns, grand openings, and virtually any outdoor event where you want to create a wow moment. If there's a sky, we can light it up.
18
Can drone shows be performed indoors?
Yes, indoor drone shows are possible with specialised micro-drones and indoor positioning systems. These are ideal for conference halls, exhibition centres, product launches, and gala events. Indoor shows require different technical setups from outdoor operations — contact us to discuss feasibility for your venue.
19
Are drone light shows environmentally friendly?
Absolutely. Compared to fireworks, drone shows produce zero chemical emissions, no particulate matter, no debris, and minimal noise. The drones are electrically powered and fully reusable across hundreds of shows. It's one of the most sustainable forms of large-scale visual entertainment available today.
